The Knowsley Voices in Partnership was originally established in 1998 as a vehicle to improve the delivery of mental health services within Knowsley. VIP meetings are held in Halewood, Huyton, Kirkby, Prescot and Whiston, giving members the opportunity to have a say in how services are provided and to protect and improve the services that people currently receive. The association also has a social input, arranging such things as quiz nights and coach trips. Members of the association are eligible to become service user representatives at the monthly Local Implementation Team meetings, which are attended by the Joint Commissioner for mental health services, staff from various statutory, voluntary and private sector and also carers of service users.
